My name is Keisha, and I am the Founder of Aging Well Psychotherapy & Consulting Services (AWP). I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and families through the emotional, psychological, and practical challenges of aging. My professional background spans a variety of care settings, including community-based programs, long-term care facilities, hospital systems, and outpatient clinical environments. This diverse experience has given me a comprehensive understanding of the aging process, the healthcare system, and the unique needs of older adults and their caregivers.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered, compassionate, and collaborative. I integrate a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based approaches. I also incorporate principles of trauma-informed care and gerontological social work to ensure that therapy is respectful, culturally sensitive, and attuned to the lived experiences of aging adults.
Whether addressing grief and loss, caregiving stress, chronic illness, life transitions, or end-of-life issues, I aim to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel empowered to explore their emotions, build resilience, and enhance their quality of life.
I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a specialization in Gerontology, as well as a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). I have also completed advanced training through a collaborative program in Aging, Palliative, and Supportive Care Across the Life Course, further informing my holistic and integrated approach to care.

Yes — all our services are provided virtually across Ontario. Sessions are private, secure, and easy to access from the comfort of your home.
Therapy focuses on mental and emotional health. Consulting is more practical — helping you navigate care systems, advocate during meetings, and create personalized care strategies.
Responsive behaviours are actions like agitation, resistance to care, or distress that often happen when a person’s needs aren’t being met — especially in those living with dementia or cognitive changes. These behaviours are a form of communication, not just “acting out.” Sometimes, even words or silence can be signs of an unmet need. We help families understand what’s behind these behaviours and respond with empathy, compassion, and proven strategies that reduce stress for everyone involved.
